Vinyasa Flow for all Levels with Karen- 6 Week course

New Start Date April 29th at 7.30pm

Vinyasa 6 week course:  29th April –

Vinyasa Flow for all levels of experience.  An evening class that is energetic and dynamic and will help you to wind down at the end of the day.  You will be led through a sequence of poses with an emphasis on breath, flow, and correct alignment of the body. Breath is used to guide the movement and to find ease in the poses. The sequence changes from week to week bringing different emphasis on different aspects of the body, but the structure is generally the same: opening with mindful breathing, warm-up, standing postures, seated postures, working the back muscles, and closing with hard-earned relaxation.

If you have previous experience or none at all, the poses can all be adapted to your needs and be made more (or less!) challenging as you go on. Demonstrations will be provided and we will keep pace with one another.

Karens Bio:

I love yoga. I have practiced it for many years through different life stages and am deeply passionate about sharing it’s benefits with others.  I teach vinyasa, pregnancy yoga and post-natal yoga and am really excited to be joining the team at Zenergy yoga!  I have taught at The Elbowroom in Dublin (where I also trained as a pregnancy and postnatal yoga teacher), at Samadhi yoga studio in Drogheda, and have run my own classes and retreats in Carrickmacross – both in person and online.  I did my 200hr hatha yoga teacher training in 2014 in Samadhi yoga studio Dublin.

I had an interesting life pre-motherhood working in rewarding but demanding jobs in conflict affected areas with peacebuilding and human rights organizations. Yoga was a tool I used to support me and to make space for myself during sometimes stressful and often intense working and living conditions.

On return to Ireland, I spent time studying yoga, deepening my own practice and becoming a teacher. I am fascinated by this ancient tradition and the philosophy that informs it – I try to bring these traditional teachings into my classes in a way that is relatable for my students.  I teach vinyasa flow classes where I share a sequence of poses guided by breath, flow and mindful alignment of the body.  These practices help bring physical release, mental clarity, and sense of calm to support us in our daily lives.

After an unplanned pregnancy and a great deal of fear about becoming a parent alone I went deeper into my yoga journey. I became a pregnancy yoga teacher during my pregnancy, and a postnatal teacher while my child was an infant. Yoga was there for me not only to help me through my worries and fears but was with me as I experienced the great joy of becoming a mother. Having my baby was the most transformative and powerful experience of my life. Yoga helped me connect with my body and my innate ability to birth my baby and I want to share some of this incredible power with other women.

Now, as a mother, a wife, a farmer, a friend, and a teacher, yoga continues to provide me with calm, peace and a landing place back to me. Life has a way of continuing to offer us challenges, be they in parenting or in the hum drum of daily life, and yoga gives me the space and tools to find purpose and meaning on a daily basis. These are the fundamental teachings of yoga that I love to share x
